Usage

Instructions - Vacuum food containers

  1. Place the lower part of the pump over the air valve, making sure that there is a tight seal between the pump and the cover.
  2. Lightly press the button on top, which will indicate green and the pump will start to suck the oxygen out of the container to create a vacuum. Ensure that the pump closes tightly over the valve and that there is no physical object or moisture in between.
  3. The pump stops when the oxygen is extracted.
  4. The fact that the knob on the valve is now turned inwards indicates that there is a vacuum in the container.
  5. Snap the lid fasteners into the container.
  6. To allow air into the container so that the lid can be lifted off, squeeze the rubber/lift the valve closure on the lid.

Tips

  • If there is a lot of liquid in the food, do not fill the container more than about 80%, the pump will suck out the liquid.
  • Powders should also not be vacuum packed as they will also be sucked out.
  • The pump can also be used for vacuum bags, e.g. for general freezer storage
  •  Use for quick marinating. By marinating meat in a vacuum, the pores are opened and the protein absorbs the liquid and flavors faster. Takes about 1-2 hours.
